01 Sep Top Must Do Things in Malaysia
Malaysia is tropical and historic, a country that is both truly Asian and a lot more. With a wide range of activities to choose from, it is a holiday destination where everyone can have a good time without breaking the bank. Here’s a list of some things to do in Malaysia that are incredibly fun-
Relive your Childhood-
A trip to Legoland and Hello Kitty Town will do wonders for your inner child and provide a fun break for families and children. Lose yourself in Legoland’s exciting rides and uncountable block events of creativity, the first of its kind in Asia. Although Legoland can appeal to nerds, Hello Kitty Town will appeal to fans of Sanrio’s popular feline. Still not up for it? We recommend making time for both.
Authentic Malaysian, Thai, and Chinese street food can be found on Jalan Alor, Malaysia’s most popular food street. Every evening, from 5 p.m. till late at night, hawkers set up shop, and most restaurants serve alcohol. In the midst of locals and other foodies, enjoy a plate of assorted seafood, BBQ chicken wings, and char kuey teow. Make the most of it by strolling down the street and gazing at the signs and menus—there are so many delicious things to try here.
Scones at Cameron Highlands-
If you thought Malaysia was all about the beaches, you’re in for a treat: Cameron Highlands is the country’s largest hill station, and it will remind you of Assam and Munnar in some ways. It, on the other hand, could not be more dissimilar. For one thing, the tea here has a distinct flavour, and the Highland air has a distinct flavour. Book a hotel with a view of the tea plantations from the balcony and spend the day sipping hot Cameronian tea and nibbling on freshly baked scones. There’s no better way to round off your Malaysian vacation than with this.
Dive Away to an Underwater Universe-
Sipadan Island, formed by living corals, is the best place to fulfil your diving dreams. Jacques Cousteau, a famous diver and oceanographer, proclaimed Sipadan to be an “untouchable work of art,” and since then, a diving vacation here has been on everyone’s bucket list, and with good reason. The amount of diverse marine life it draws from the open sea’s blackness is incredible.
Hit the Casino-
Genting Highlands is a place where the good times never end. It is a popular tourist destination due to its cool environment, theme parks, and evening live performances. It is visible from Kuala Lumpur as a bright light on top of a distant hill. The one and only casino in Malaysia is also located in Genting Highlands. Take it easy, though, because it’s easy to lose all your money!
